Morning Discussion
Good morning, hope everyone is ready for a good weekend. We've got our latest contest up, this time for Atlus' R-Type Commmand, all you have to do is write a review of the demo, in character. Once upon a time there were character accounts allowed here, and while they may not fit in now, I figured this contest could be a decent throwback to that. Also, the body of knowledge in the "http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/52455">Grand Theft Chatty

So what are you kids playing this weekend? I mean, aside from the obvious?

Ick. To clarify this statement, I just meant that I have such fond memories of SoM, that CT would have to do a lot to surpass SoM. And it doesnt help that I have waited this long to play CT. I think CT will not be as good as SoM, but not because it is not as good a game as SoM, but more because I am older now, and it is a bit dated. :(

Eh? Last time I tried Syndicate or Syndicate Wars on DOSBox it ran either too slow or too fast. I got the menu running fine, then when it went into game it went batshit. Tried altering cycles and shit but could never get it absolutely right.
Was ages ago though. Might give it another go, been wanting to replay those two for ages. And Theme Hospital.

It’s a busy gaming weekend!
I bought STALKER last week but totally mangled some of the mod installs, so last night I wiped everything out and am re-installing.
Saturday a few friends are coming over and I’m running an indie RPG called Don’t Rest Your Head: http://www.evilhat.com/home/?page_id=101
Sunday is my D&D Ptolus game! www.ptolus.com

PS2. I bought it the same week it came out and never touched it. It sat on my shelf for nearly two years. I figured it was time.
I'm about 22 hours in, and loving it. I think my hesitation in getting around to it was the duration of the game. Lately long games are something I avoid because I have other shit to do. 6-8 hour games seem perfect for me, but I decided to give Okami a go anyway. I do about 1-3 hour installments here and there and it's palatable that way.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R is getting to be a lot of fun. I stopped getting being paranoid about missing something crucial and looking at the faq a lot, and just let myself get immersed in the game. There's a LOT of firefights, and I just got an even better machine gun. Last night I stole some plans from Apagrom Institute. Although, I wasn't very stealthy. I just steam rolled in and killed a fuck ton of soldiers. I'm supposed to take the plans to this bar, but the route is way high in radiation and I don't think I can go further. No clue what I'm supposed to do now.
